Hello Mrs Ab Ed, I was wondering whether, as part of the shake up of the site prior to the annual bash (aka the awards do) and the launch of the premium membership, if there could possibly be a little adjustment to the user names on the site. I do know that some names appear only to be used for a day or two, then they are never seen again, I feel it may be interesting to denote this trend by adding a small marker or flag that would identify these id's, which for the most part seem to have been registered to be used for mischief, i know that seems a sweeping observation, but it is invariably the case. i am not sure what purpose it would serve, other then maybe encourage these users to actually ask for their ids to be deleted and their less than helpful, and sometimes totally not necessary responses, deleted. I agree with Dot, this would be a really good idea. Infact, could we take it a step further Mrs Ed, and use a similar system to denote any and all IDs which are multiples used by the same person? That would certainly keep the mischief makers in check, something that we would all welcome, I'm sure. It would also give a bit of relief to genuine new users, who often come in for unneccessary scrutiny and harshness when they are (mistakenly) taken for an alias of another, established, member. xx

i was not necessarily referring to multiple ids, only those that were registered, used for confrontation, and then abandoned, multiple ids are usually swiftly eradicated.
Hi dot

Thank you for the suggestion. Many people use the site just one or a few times to ask questions and once they have received an answer - they go, so we would not want to imply that they are trouble-makers, when they actually use the site for its intended purpose.

We will be introducing some changes in the coming months which will address some of these "problem-user" issues. In the meantime, please report the posts and they will be removed.

Thanks again!

Cheers ed, that sounds promising, the one we have had today was deffo a trouble maker but people reported them and hopefully the id will vanish too.
thanks, I didn't know that Dot...makes me wonder why so many greeenies get a hard time then? surely if multiple IDs are swiftly erradicated, then no newbie should be under suspicion of being anyone else? Yet this happens so often, which seems such a shame and must be so off putting for new users these days.

It is not something I have noticed happening very often but if it is a concern to you, maybe you could set yourself up as a champion of the greenies.
I already have - check out my AB FF teams footie kit, lmao :o)
Why not make each new applicant send a CV to dot and only on her personal authoirty will they be accepted?

courtesy usually seems to work better with the Ed than yelling 'Oi! You!', or so I have found
