Do you or have you done your gorcery shopping online? If so which stores & what are your experiences?

My youngest son is off school this week with chicken pox & supplies are running low :( A friend has agreed to sit with him while I go shopping but I'm considering biting the bullet & doing my 1st online shop, although the only store I can find that will deliver is tescos which I dont normally use.

Any tips or advice you have will be gratefully received :)
Thanks in advance Jo x

I use tescos when I'm skint. it means I only buy what I need and don't get tempted by all the offers and smells etc in the store. The delivery hcharge always works out much less then I would have spent on 'extras' had I gone to the store! It's a bit of a pain for your first order going through everything but once you have done one next time you can just go to your last order and add bits on and take bits off and generally most people buy the same things each time don't they?
How about Sainsburys? used to use them occasionally.
Only used Tesco once.
Not really any difference between the 2 as far as i saw.
ive started to attempt to do this a couple of times but found it took sooooooo long i got impatient before id finished and went and got it myself! What i was slightly concerned about was use by dates cos i always take things from back of shelf to get freshest possible whereas i could have ended up with a whole shop with only couple of days to use it. I also like to select fruit and veg cos sometimes some of it is a bit manky. be good to hear how long it takes you to complete your order and if my concerns above are unnessecary.
that's the thing, it's the best before dates. Although in my experience, they generally tend to be pretty good about it. Maybe not from right at the back of the shelf, but not really short-dated. Had no problems with the quality of the fruit/veg either.
You can always check these when they're being delivered and refuse delivery of anything you don't want.
I have used Tescos a number of times and have generally been very pleased. Fruit, veg and meat has been fine. just watch the 'substitutions' particularly if you buy something on a BOGOF offer or something. The first time of doing it is certainly the worst time as you have to find all the products you want, but if you use a clubcard, it will remember your 'favourites' for you and it will remember your last order if you choose to use it again.
Hope your little boy gets well soon!
tesco are good, as are sainsburys, ocado is blooming expensive, asda are a bit manky sometimes and other times ok, but i prefer tesco home delivery out of the lot

Update:
I have just spent the last 3 hours!! doing my shopping, then reviewing my list & double checking...finally got as far as checkout..only to realise I have the wrong card to make payment..tesco dont accept visa electron..WHOOPS!!

Thanks for your answers everyone, I off to the shops now lol
I do mine on line all the time and find it very quick because they just give you a list of all the things you normally buy and you can just skip down that .... I have used Sainsbury's and Ocado and find they are very good.
Asda I use, although I do find that ticking I do not want substitutes button means you usually dont get much shopping fr the 6.00 it costs to deliver. But they are always helpful and on time and always take their substitutes back if you dont want them.
Ocado is my favourite - yes it costs more, but you do get the odd fre gift or special offer. PLus if you buy own brand (Waitrose) the quality is better than some of the other supermarkets. Plus they stock a fair few exclusive lines. Never had a substitution yet due to the way their system works.
