Can there just be a topic called "ranting and raving" where people can have a good old moan like "Grumpy Old Women" as long as it is a Question ?

Oh deary me, you really don't know what you're asking for.....a section for grumpy old wimmin? Are you mad?

This is Neti, smudge and Robinia on a night out, do you really want these ruffians to have their own category?

Grrrr - grits teeth - what grumpy old women????
Well gotta admit, you're grinning in that particular photo, but only because you'd tied Vinny to a lampost and nicked his Becks Neti.

LOL BOO!!! Us Biddies aren't grumpy at all! In fact we are probably the happiest people on AB.

Good idea Tellboy. Somewhere to let off steam!!

Lol, i know gessoo- but I had a right old giggle putting that piccy up ;-)
Grumpy ? Moi ?
I'm only grumpy when Vinny nicks my Little Gem and hides my whisky.
shaney what is your "little gem" and why is vinny pinching it??? Does it hurt!!
Lol Neti .....I'll leave Vinny to explain all about his little gem when he appears .....I think it's a lettuce leaf which just about covers his possibilities !!
Don't encourage him !!

Just read this thread & BOO's picture really made me laugh - so thanks for that!

Only last night, all the lights upstairs blew & I was fumbling about in the dark for over an hour, banged my toe on the bed castor & expressed a few expletives. A little later on our Granddaughter said "Are you still grumpy Nanny?". I burst out laughing, as thankfully, she doesn't often see me like that!

I like to think the same applies on AB! ;o]

Anyway, what about 'A Grumpy Old Man's' thread tellboy!
Oh smudge that thread would take practically the whole of AB!!!!

and that would only be one man's grumbles, Neti........!!

Just off to the pub with dog in tow!!!......... You coming, Neti?......................
Nah gessoo re my answer in your footy question, it's way too muddy to step outside at present and still teeming down. Have a cider for me.

Ranting and raving? New research demonstrates that older people have greater control over their emotions than young ones - "accumulated life experience and the motivation for meaning over acquisition in older age contribute to plasticity of medial prefrontal systems, achieving a greater selective control over emotional functions".

Seriously: see http://www.jneurosci.org/cgi/content/abstract/26/24/6422

jno, are you seriously serious?

I know a few old ravers, but they just end up panting rather than ranting.
Don't know about the "grumpy old women" bit, but we already have a ranting and raving section. You'll find it on the menu, disguised as News. :-)
the research only came out this week Octavius, but it confirms what I expected about emotional maturity being the preserve of the old and wise.
Question Author
Thank you everyone my Rant and Rave is about threads (like this one) being hijacked by groups of people who know each other and carry on their private conversations that mean nothing to everyone else on AB. When you moan you are told to "lighten up "...rant...rant...rant...moan...moan...moan..

Lighten Up, Tellboy! ;o)
