Heeeeey, your back. That was quick. Says it's mainly affecting the west side of the country so you should be ok.

Question Author

its an Atlantic storm, bad enough to get over this side according to our local forecast Zac, How's that pooch of yours by the way?

These hurricanes and storms - and what have you - seem to have increased in ferocity since we began giving them names. Perhps we should give them 'nice' names like - i dunno - Lucy or Felicity - then they might be less destructive :-J

Depends where you are...Met Office says "fresh breeze" on Weds and "moderate breeze" Thurs am for my area.

Hardly "nasty" here.

Jesus - I cant recollect an insurer taking any interest at all....

Question Author

thats a good idea actually Ken, the softer the name the softer the storm

Question Author

just for you PP😀

Hi William,
It looks like there’s a weather warning in your area for an increased chance of wind and rain storms.

Please be aware damage to fences and hedges aren't covered under your Admiral policy, so before the storm begins, secure any loose gates or fence posts

I thought we were still dealing with storm/hurricane Nigel  🤔

It's not even October yet.

Don't think it will visit Manchester.

Question Author

hopefully you are right Barsel

was it today you were to have your knee replacement? Have you heard anything back, my sil had hers on Thursday and gone

Should have had it yesterday. The surgeon phoned me last week and said he will try to find a slot in approx 6 weeks' time but have to make sure I don't have an infection!

What do you mean your s-i-l has gone?

Gone home?  2-3 days is usually the max for an inpatient stay after joint arthroplasty.

Question Author

oops, where did the 'and' creep in, ðŸ™„, she hasn't gone anywhere

Barsel, she's at home receovering x

Ken, they've been getting worse since they started giving them men's names. Back in the day when they were just called Patience, Prudence and Perseverance, nobody got hurt.

Question Author

they were so pleased the way it went she came home after only one night in hospital

Already had it - Agnes is all bluster and no substance

I've had the same message from my insurer.

I've a feeling that this is all a sort of 'Project Fear' - keep them guessing, keep them scared.  Make meteorology vital! (It is useful.)

Before names, it was things like 'weather fronts moving in from the Atlantic, liable to bring high winds of 80 m.p.h. so be prepared'.  Now it is terror, destruction etc..

Don't understand insurers jumping on  the bandwaggon unless it is so that they can cover thyemselves when the usual claims come in - i.e. 'We told you so, so you are not entitled to  claim'.  I am very unhappy about the  way people are being manipulated.
