Another passenger disputes some of Emily's claims. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/thomas-cook-crop-top-plane-15974261 My view for what it's worth is that she was under dressed for a flight, that's a bralet - I wouldn't have made a fuss about it though. The rules should be more specific rather than leaving staff to try to...

Spath, I do believe that you have just opened a can of worms, or, in this case, two cans:)
IMO she's an attention seeker.
And, to answer your question, definitely not unless your motive is to become "newsworthy".

hahaha Oi Oi

I think wear what you want you know.. But then if someone made an inappropriate comment, or maybe one they saw it as a compliment, would she uproar again?

The world is a diverse place, one where not everyone can have their way. I think she made a pigs ear out of the situation and should have just put her jacket on if i was on the plane and she was making a protest about it it would annoy the hell out of me.

Good for her she stuck to her principles but, i mean.. it did get her kicked off the flight.

The older lady makes a good point about the others on the flight, and how life isn't always fair regarding rules an regulations. If everyone made a protest then the world would cease to flow.

I mean i wouldn't say the attire is unsuitable.. but i do think if ask'd to put more clothes on she should have just bit her tongue and done it. It's unfair to compare it to a males clothing but if a male was wearing that top i'm sure they'd be ask'd to put something else on or cover up also.

Who knows.
Not acceptable in my view but I worked in a Doctors clinic here in Portugal and in the summer we had to put up a sign saying no bikinis or trunks without clothing on top, no bare feet and preferably no too much sand. Also no naked children. Not kidding

She probably wouldn't be allowed in a proper restaurant to be fair.. I class this as a crop top

I class what she is wearing a bralette.. Just because it seems crochet and bohemian doesn't change what it is. However, i wouldn't be complaining on the flight, only when it started to delay it by half hour.
Spath, was she kicked off the flight? I thought she donned the jacket a relative provided.
She was not kicked off the flight
Question Author
Yes apprently she put on a jacket and was shaking and upset.. does she know our grandfathers and mothers went to world war?
Mail scraping the barrel as usual.
And I suppose that she was also gob-smacked, offended, mortified, and humiliated to such a degree that she is now on pills, tablets, and, Scotch.

The rules should be more specific rather than leaving staff to try to interpret them.
The crew member should have a a quiet word with her instead of making their comments audible to half the plane. A man on the plane was wearing a vest and shorts, no doubt with hairy armpits on view, should he have been asked t cover up?
As said on the Jeremy Vine show "what about men with huge beer bellies barely covered by tight tee shirts" Should they be asked to cover up?

OOOO mamy how controversial!! Love it

I believe the man.. He to me is an independent witness.
It's another angle isn't it?

I have no clue, I wasn't there.
Question Author
Margo hairy arms are a futile point but i understand what you're saying.. This women is potentially objectifying herself instead of repulsing people though which i'm sure is why staff said something. I doubt she repulsed anyone like a fat sweaty hairy man would.
Question Author
Yes it's the best angle for me I was hoping maybe we could get perspective of others from the flight
She looks like she hasn't had time to dress. Looks like her bra.
