Went out to get some supplies earlier and the bus coming back was quite full.

A youngish lad got on with a white stick, so either blind or partially sighted, and nobody moved to help him get a seat (or even give up a seat for him) except me and I have a walking stick myself.

Luckily when I spoke to him and went to move it prompted one guy to move and let him have a seat.

I was, not surprised given my own experience, but disgusted.

Just wanted a rant...arghhhhh! What has got you wound up today?

What has got you wound up today?

Having to get up for work at 4.30 am to go to work, Eve. however I have tomorrow off though.
nothing at all as these happy pills really really work, I've seen some very ridiculous and stupid things today on my sojourn to town but i just laughed and carried on, i might even be able to get back to work now and not want to smack someone in the face with a shovel.
That's inconsiderate. I'm a bit wound up because my daughter has adhd assessment tomorrow. We've waited 8 months and they rang this afternoon for some information. It turns out the doctor worded the referral wrongly, so they needed phone call from doctor just to confirm. Of course, my surgery shut this afternoon. Have rung the other branch twice and Camhs (assessment place) twice. Was told i would get a call back all 4 times. Nothing. And apparently everyone had gone home by 5:15 when i tried to check. Hmmm. Helpful!
No manners or consideration around these days eve.....I ended up paying an old ladies fare a few weeks back...she couldn't find her pass in her bag and was getting all upset as the driver was not helpful....after she had sat down and had the time to look without everyone tutting their impatience she found it...poor old dear was going to have to get off bus and wait for another !
Hearing a woman shouting and swearing at her children for kicking the rain cover on their double buggy, the kids couldn't have been more than eighteen months old, now that was disgusting!
.

Someone got up and gave me a seat, and I said Christ do I look that crap ?
and he said, 'Yes'
Stupidly, I snapped the stem off my stop-watch whilst attempting to take the back off in order to oil it. Now I can't wind it up. That really wound me up!
Nothing at all. I have been a model of calmness and serenity.
I realise its annoying but be aware, not all ailments are visible - and that people who look ok may need that seat as much, if not more than, you do ...

it infuriates me when i get ignorant and snotty glares off people when i am sitting down on a crowded bus or train - just because i am young and 'look' healthy - i am not, my back and hips are agony most of the time, and i am as entitled to a seat as anyone.
so not only do i get the stares - i also know how you feel - when i am the one standing and in pain, and no-one moves for me, because i look ok, and have no stick etc ...

Joko, I'm perfectly well aware of that and, of course, experienced it myself prior to having something visible like a stick.

I remember you saying the same on a previous thread(s) but, seriously, while yes there may be other people who need seats for non-visible reasons, I doubt that includes everyone on a double-decker bus, mainly those downstairs of course. I get your point but don't accept your argument in the circumstances.
Being informed by the social worker that the home I want for my Mum has no vacancies but they are assessing her for a home which does...one that has a dreadful Care Quality report and a recent court case for abusing a resident.
I contacted the one I want...three vacancies and I have an interview tomorrow....
The social work side has taken over from the poo panel, I think...☻
Good luck tomorrow then, gness.
Thanks, Tony....this home has a really good reputation and the manager was funny and so friendly.... I hope she is suitable for what they can provide.

Fingers crossed for you Gness x
I'm sure you've done your research, Gness. I hope it all goes well and that you manage to get your Mum settled.
Has Eve says, fingers crossed then, gness.
Eve - i was not presenting an argument, so it doesn't matter either way if you to accept it or not ... like i said - i agree its frustrating at having to stand in pain when there are healthy, pain free, people taking a seat.

i was merely stating the other side of the coin and that we have no idea who is who.
Don't settle for less than you want G !! Xx
again , good luck G. what wound me up today, I watched a bit of Jeremy kyle show,,, does anyone in this country know who their babies father is ?
Question Author
A worrying amount by the amount of shows he does featuring it Anne! I'm sure young people all over the country will be made up to find out their fathers were determined by DNA test on an "entertainment" show on national TV (along with more than they probably ever wish to know about their parents' sex lives!).
