Afternoon all, I wasn't going to because I think it's a bit cheeky but it's all a bit bigger than my modesty so I'll have a go anyway.
As some of you know I'm running the Liverpool Marathon on October 9th and I'm hoping to raise a few bob for Cancer Research UK.
As per my mail a couple of days ago, the cause stepped a little closer to home for me when my 88 year old Grandad was sent for a full body scan after they discovered what they thought to be a tumour in his bowel meaning he can't now join me in the Marathon (although the way he's going I still wouldn't put it past him, he ran 17 miles yesterday!), he's due for his results tomorrow so fingers crossed we're all good, and thanks again for all the kind words on that Fast Eddie thread!

I've already had a couple of donations from my AB buddies so a massive thanks to Mamyalynne and TTFN. If anyone else would like to make a donation and help this excellent cause please visit my just giving link below.
Cheers y'all!!

Ed - apologies if I'm being naughty doing this but I had to try my hand! ;)

aah great, and thanks very much for your donation and support Rowanwitch!
paul,
may I ask ... once I hit the donate button ... who sees the personal details that have to be filled in please? This put me off donating if I'm truthful & may have put others off on here ... thanks!

quassia - you can leave a message for all to see if you want, if you choose not to then I'll see my total go up, I'll receive an e-mail saying that someone has made a donation, and that's it, neither I nor anyone else would have access to any personal details.
If you do choose to donate, thanks in advance, if not I fully understand your concerns with money transfers online, and I'll hold out for a "well done Paul!" on October 10th!! :)
I have used Justgiving many times including Pa_ul3's appeal and Moyras also on this page, never had a problem am sure as I can be that details are secure.
paul,
will definately donate shortly if my details are secure, thanks for getting back to explain things!
So sorry to hear about it being brought closer to home.

I can't run down my garden path let alone a marathon. My hat is off to you sir, and to your grandad for his 17 miles yesterday. Hope all goes well for him and you too.

Thank you for the re-assurance about the online donating.

thanks guys, it's been ruddy hard work training for it and I know I'm in for a few days of agony afterwards but every ounce of support I'm getting makes a big, big difference.
It makes me very grateful to be part of this lil AB society!
Afternoon. Anyone know how easy it is to remove your name from the just giving page after you've left a comment?
You can edit your message to show a nickname or even give anonymously, I think you edit as you go and am sure you can do it afterwards too.
Yes when they send your receipt it gives you the additional option to edit.
Excellent. That will be useful to someone I am sure.
Afternoon Pa__ul As Moyra asked before you posted (by email, but didn't post until afterwards) I've given her the sticky "privilege". Happy to pop yours into the same position next week (in a new thread).

All the best,

Ed

I wasn't expecting that at all Ed but thanks very much!
There's another tenner and 2.50 Gift Aid

thanks very much Sandy!
have a great weekend all!!
Well done, Paul - I don't even like running for a bus!

Best wishes to you, your grandad & everyone else concerned. :-)
What is a bus please Maj? My walking days are nearly done now, I even have a dedicated car space at work, much to the consternation of my colleagues, lol. Not that I milk it or anything like that (yeah right!)

Paul I take my hair net off to you - I would advise you get the Fynnons in now (bet you google that ☺), not sure if you can still get horse liniment either.
However - a botle of alcohol rub on the *inside* always goes down well ♥
I have a very good embrocation too, ask Maj xxx
