it's too cold - cats like their comforts ;)
Morning tamirra,i havent got a cat flap but my cat is very reluctant to go out at all
I presume the catflap isn't see through Tamirra. Cats are cautious and like to know what is outside before they go outside. She will use it coming in because she knows indoors is safe, but she doesn't know what is waiting the other side of the catflap. You can get see through cat flaps.
Perhaps she doesn't want babies!
She knows you'll open it for her and cats like that. Don't do it and she'll soon learn.

The cat flap is see through so she can see whats waiting for her, i reckon like ganesh says ive made her lazy will try not to do it in future and see what she does. Hi Poodi how are you doing?
I agree with ganesh. My old lady used to pointedly go and sit next to the back door (which was next to the flap) and expect me to open it for her.

Tamirra once you accept that she is not your cat, but you are in fact her slave, you'll get on so much better! ;)
Doing ok still trying to get things sorted legally, might email you laterx
I agree with the laziness option haha :)

My Heathcliffe could use his perfectly well though didn't stop him from sitting in the hall yowling for me to come and open the door for him when he felt like it!
ha ha definately laziness.. why should she open her door herself when her Human is there to do it for her!!! No if only you could practice your timing so you could be there to open it again when she comes back!!! ;-)
We started a really bad habit.. and opened the back door to let ours in again.. so they gave up coming back via THEIR cat flap - and would sit and wait by the door instead!!!!
Do they own us - or do we own them eh???
I'm sure laziness is in cat genes. My 12 year old will sit by the cat flap if I am nearby. What really gets me is her habit of knocking +++ on the cat flap when she wants to come in. It makes a racket and must take more energy than actually opening the thing for herself. But she wants the door opened for her - so she knocks.
When I am not around she is quite capable of using the cat flap without this prima donna performance.
you have to make a bit of an idiot of yourself and stand outside with something she likes to eat, when she's inside, to encourage her to start to come out by herself.

I had a house opposite the Coop many years back and I had to put my head through the catflap to show my new cat how to do it, the people in the Coop got free entertainment that afternoon....
PS why is your cat not speyed...? do you really want kittens?
^^ oops, spayed..?
