Does anybody know if there is a term to describe a row or group of trees that have been bent by the wind.

In "bonsai land"...a tree that is swept back by the wind is known as "windswept"

Not sure if that applies to "proper" trees !!!
The only term i can think of is weather-beaten.

I am trying to find this out for a friend, who has a vague recollection of a geographical term, --------tropic or similar.

Windswept etc. doesn't quite fit. Many thanks anyway.
