Ive got a 2 year old yorkie who loves pasta too, I gave him some when I made pasta bolognese but it made him vomit.  Pasta swells and he couldn't digest it so it just came back up! He still wants some when I eat it but I only give him two or three bits now instead of a small bowlful.

Pasta contains startch which is very bad for animals tummy's he may love it but u shouldnt give it to him, it can cause severe digestion problems and pains.

Hope this helps

Tia

we share a little with our dog who does enjoy it. Make sure that it is well cooked so that all the swelling is done outside the dog's tummy. Dogs are not designed by nature to digest large amounts of starch and you may find that it gives him/her the runs...also it makes our dog produce copious amounts of nuclear gas!!!!

The other thing is that it will put weight on!!

Thanks for your answers, I should have asked before feeding him pasta, I wouldn't have come down to find the contents of his bowels lying on the floor this morning :(
I think Pedigree Chum actually make a dog food with pasta in it, and I think Wafcol do one too.  The PDSA website has an ask the vet facility, I find that quite useful if no-one on here knows the answer
