I just wondered if anyone could help so i know what signs to look for.
My kitten of 6 1/2 months was ran over and killed last night by some evil person that just left her in the road, a kind neighbour pick up Tango and brought her home.
The thing is i've got her sole mate left behind the same age they were always together playing,will Cola know that Tango has gone.

So sorry. You must feel so awful today. Why do people just drive on when they run over cats - it's so heartless.
Cola will know that Tango has gone and may actually go around the house calling for her. Some cats can actually get quite agitated, go off their food or act strangely for a while. However, Cola will get used to the situation before very long. Meanwhile give Cola lots of cuddles and reassurance - you can comfort each other.

Ammo, So sorry to hear about Tango. It was very kind of your neighbour to bring her home, which was a lot better than you never knowing what had happened to her, or you would have been for ever worrying about where she was. Cola will certainly miss Tango, lots of love and cuddles should help. Poor you, and poor Cola, is there any chance you could get another kitten. While Cola is so young she should take to a kitten ok, and as all kittens are playful, it would help to take her mind off the fact that Tango is sadly gone. R.I.P Tango.

I agree it seems heartless when people don't stop. My friend was just the opposite the other week, coming off a huge roundabout in the city where she lives, she saw a cat sort of crouched over and could see it had been hit, she went round the roundabout again, stopped her car, another driver stopped to see what on earth she was doing, opened his car boot and found a blanket, between them they picked up cat and she took it to the PDSA. It was put on a drip and is now waiting for it's owner to claim it or to be re-homed. There is no doubt at all that it would have been killed very soon if she hadn't done what she did.

Zacsmaster. Just chipping in here to say how sorry I am that you lost your ginger puss. She must have had a lovely life to reach 20 years of age. You have my sympathy. My tortie female is now 21 and I imagine the time won't be too far off when she too will be leaving us. I'm dreading the thought of being without her. R.I.P ginger puss.
ammo, that is very sad, sorry to hear of that loss. We need more people like your neighbour, also like horselady and the other person who helped - you probably saved that cat's life. But it did occur to me, as zacsmaster said, the drive might have genuinely not realised.
My sister's cat Coco had a sister Bonnie, who died. Coco's behaviour changed very much, mostly in that she disappeared for long periods of time, always reappearing though - sometimes even months later. We wondered if she was looking for her sibling. But she hasn't done this for some time now and seems normal. I wonder if, even at that much later stage, cats remember and think about their lost siblings.

No you don't go knocking on doors. If a person has any decency they would transport the animal to the nearest vet, so it can be scanned for a microchip, and the owner informed. If a motorist hits and kills a dog, then the accident has to be reported, and it's a pity the same law doesn't apply to cats, who are just as important to their owner as is a dog.
I agree Scutzengel. I just think some people don't have any regard for others at all.
It is difficult on country roads if you hit an animal and they run off, especially at night and on fast roads where it is dangerous to stop. But in a built up area with housing people have no excuse whatsoever.

My little Dougal got hit (I assume) by a car and I found him peacfully lying by the side of the road - he looked asleep). He was probably hit on the nearby main road, and managed to crawl to the side road where I found him in the morning.
his sister, Darcy, was a lot more affectionate to us over the next few weeks, but that was the only difference.
I'm not an emotional bloke at all (all hairy and tattooed), but animals in pain/cruelty always gets to me - I can feel myself welling up in work now.
We bit the bullet and had a new rescue kitten a few months later, and the two cats get on like a house on fire (ie sparks and loud noises).
As pointed out, sometimes drivers don't notice that they hit animals sometimes. Equally, I had the misfortune to hit a cat a few years ago. I stopped immediately, but absolutely no sign of it - this was also in a built up area. I looked under the parked cars, etc - nothing.
One of my parents cats also got hit by a car where they live, and he managed to get himself home before sadly passing on.

Sound advice in regard to your remaining cat.
She may well pine for a while, but animals do assimilate the loss of a 'pack' member because it is a natural occurence in the wild, and instinct will stop any pack member pining for too long.
As said, lots of love and affection from the 'pack leader' will help ease the transition into life without Tango, for both of you.
