It really doesn't depend entirely on the size of the size of the body of water or that it might be landlocked. Fact is, your cup of tea or coffee probably has a "tide" but it's amplitude is so small as to be unmeasurable. The Mediterranean Sea has a vey small tide for such a large body of water, but the shape, lack of large inlets or outlets has as much to do with the lack of tide size as does any othe rfactor. The Bay of Fundy, in Nova Scotia experiences the worlds largest tidal change,meausring nearly 50 feet. Again, the location, shape of the Bay, contour of the ocean floor and other factors produce the significant difference...
