My husband started working at a cat and dog shelter a little while ago and was told that most people who start there, after a week, will develop sickness and diorrhea ... which he's succumbed to today!! He's definitely a "clean person", ie washes his hands all the time before eating etc and definitely more so when working with animals ... but just wondered what might have caused it. Any ideas? Don't think its food related as we both have the same stuff and I'm absolutely fine !!

Possibly air borne virus.

But there does seem to be a lot of stomach bugs around at the moment, so it could be coincidence
Maybe he should wear rubber gloves when handling the animals, in case they are infected. Hope he's better and stronger by now.
