I have a 1 year old Bengal cat, he is lovely natured but unfortunately he is extremely destructive and hyperactive - has ruined settees, curtains, lamps and broken endless glasses!I can have nothing left out on table tops or kitchen units as he knocks everything to the floor. Have put up my xmas tree today but have had to take it down as we left him alone for 1/2 hour and when we returned he had pulled practically all the baubles off and was chewing the fairy lights wire. Was wondering if this is typical of the breed and does anyone have any solutions? Am thinking of getting another cat as company for him as I feel boredom may be an issue for him (though not another Bengal!) Thanks x x

I think Bengals are notoriously high maintenance and need a stimulating environment. I'd get in touch with one of the Bengal cat clubs (or breeders) for advice.
Bengals are extremely distuctive and boisterous esp the males you would have been better with a female, but hey are by nature probably the most naughtiest of cat breed, it also depends on what generation she is, mine is 6th (the full tiger being 1) they need lots of attention and entertainment as the trouble gets worse when they are naughty. I wouldnt get another cat to be honest as bengals will want their owners undivided attention and wouldnt be happy at all if he had to share you.
