What do people mean by 'junk food'?

Many people will put different definitions to the expression **junk food**.
It is generally taken to mean any food that is high in fat and calories but has low nutritional value.
Typical examples are burgers, hot dogs, fries, biscuits, pizza, sweets, chocolates, ice cream and crisps etc.
The best definition that I've heard is * any food prepared outside of the home that children find delicious *.
