I am sitting in my comfy leather reclining chair, with the laptop on my lap, typing this and my cat is intent on getting in my lap. She does not care that I am busy trying to type and give advice on this site, but is at the moment sitting on my chest and purring like mad at her success!
Cats! Don't you just love them!

I am a dog lover and didn't really like cats much.

About five years ago I took on an elderly tom cat, he was about 12 or 13. First morning that I tried to have a lie in he sank his claws and teeth into me.

Once I was full trained and doing everything he wanted we got on well. He passed away a couple of months ago.

I still think that cats are vicious, psychotic little furr balls. But I will be getting another one.

What's the difference between a cat and dog?

A dog needs a reason to bite its owner, a cat does it because he wants to.
no
very true wolf 63!
My cat does the same, he will be quite happily sat in the chair or window, but if I pick up a book he sits in front of it so I can read it, if I have a paper or magazine, he will sit on it, and if I am on the phoe he head butts it out of the way.

Cats, who'd have them?!
Mine's the same - if I'm typing on the laptop he jumps on the desk and sits on the keyboard. If I'm reading a book/paper/magazine he jumps on my lap and ducks his head under whatever I'm reading then pushes his head and the object backwards out of my hands. If I'm watching tv he stands on my chest and ensures he is blocking the whole screen. Basically I think he's trying to tell me that I should at no time be looking at something other than him and when I have the nerve to do so for a moment or two he basically jumps up and down shouting "look at me, look at me"

He's a pain in the provebial most of the time but I love him to bits! :-)
My kitten (15 wks old) does the same if i'm typing on the computer he jumps up on to my lap purring madly and proceds to walk all over the keybord and infront of the monitor so that I have to stop and smooth him, it hasn't taken him long to train me or my partner or the dog for that matter he actively seeks the dog out to play with him just so he has constant attention, I love him though such a little character

Wolf63 my cats are definately vicious pysyschotic TUBBY furr balls!
One of our previous cats used to play fight with our dog and once decided to do a running jump at our dog's head when our dog was innocently taking a wander in the garden. The cat ran up to him, jumped up, whacked both paws round each side of the dogs head and then quickly ran away (smirking I think!). The poor dog did not even see the cat coming and nearly had a heart attack! They still remained good friends after that though!
Many thanks for all the responses!
