Slaters (yuck)
Afraid I never get beyond calling them "eurghhh"
Ball beetle!
I know them as woodlice but as kids we often called them armadillo's (just for fun) but the ones that roll into a ball when you touch them are pillbugs.
My mum always called them hardbacks..
Curly Bobs
pillybugs
Cheeseybugs
Yep,ball beetles!!!
Hi kip!!
Ha how funny, I didn't realise until a couple of years ago that they actually had a 'proper' name and I'm 26!

They were always (and always will be) 'piggy-wiggys' to me.

Thanks mum.
I remember an episode of River Cottage with Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall where he called his 'Lunch'

Ack!
I call mine "bakers" (don't know why, I guess it's what my parents always called them). They make interesting toys for pets - my youngest cat used love to tap them gently so they rolled up in little balls, then she would whack them across the kitchen floor and chase after them !
Phylum Arthropoda
My girlfriend calls them Brickbugs...Tickled me first time i heard her say it!
we call them chisel pigs
Grandfathers, no idea why.
I call them Grandfathers
Wee call them sourbugs
I call mine Hamish
