as part of his every day diet?
He is a 9 year old German Shepherd. He has been very poorly recently with gastro interitus and the vet suggested we feed him chicken egg and rice. He is now up and at em :-), but is it still OK to continue with the rice?
He certainly likes it.

Yes we feed our 14yrs old Labrador tin dog food which has rice added.
thats good food for animals as they like it and its healthy, but its normally fed to overweight animals or poorly animals. if you keep it as its main diet he will lose weight fast. you need food with other vitamins minerals and fats and stuff in.
The animal feed shop I work in sells a dry dog food, chicken and rice, obviously made of chicken and rice but containing vitamins etc.
Chicken and rice is excellent for dogs that have just had the sloppy poos. It's very easy for them to digest.

We add rice quite often to our dogs food, if we've got any left over. They love it. They also like cold tea!

All the dogs we've had all love rice and we feed it on a regular basis to give a bit of variety. They also love pasta and have that once a week.
