I feel silly for asking this but how can I stop my hamster from peeing all around his cage?

He lives in a rotastack cage with lots of tubes and stuff and at the moment he pee's anywhere he wants, in particular in his tubes and in his wheel which is attached to the outside.

Because the tubes and wheel have air holes so he can breathe in them, it drips out while i'm at work!

I've tried putting soiled sawdust in a certain place and i've tried taking his tubes and wheel away from him until he gets used to using one place but he always goes back to them.

Any ideas?

you can actually buy hamster toilets!its like a small short covered tunnel thing with grit in the bottom.the idea is that you put soiled sawdust in it and put it the place it likes to go the most.my boyfriend got one for his hamster but i cant sy it really worked, but all hamsters are different i suppose! you can get them from large pet stores.good luck x

Thanks for that idea but its one i've already tried. All he does with it is pull the lid off it and chew it and sit in it to wash!

I doubt it, its a very good idea to have a hamster with its own toilet but they think its a toy. I've even tried spraying puppy training spray in it so he can smell its dirty!
I tried the potty thing...its not working. My Chewy likes to do everything...and I mean everything in his "master bedroom" that is attached to his cage. He eats, sleeps and soils all in the same saucer thingy. The rest of his cage is squeeky clean. I'm afraid he will get sick having his food and poop all in the same spot. Not to mention it stiiiiiiiiinks to high heaven. NEED POTTY TRAINING HELP HERE TOO..
