Q.Which British bird has the greatest egg colour variation.

I thought it was cuckoo because they have to match the hosts bird's eggs,

but my bird book suggests the guillemot has a wide colour variation, however, I already have guillemot as an answer to another question in the same quiz. Has anyone any input please.

i belive the answer to be chinese painted quail, they can change their egg colour up to 24 different shades(some people think this could be caused by their food or their grit)
