Can a snake survive if frozen? If so, how long can it survive in the frozen state?

Some species of garter snake hibernate in aggregations of hundreds of snakes for around 16 weeks - although the temperature never falls below 3-4 degrees C, that's still pretty cold!

Why do you ask that? Your not thinking of freezing your snake so you don't have to feed it are you? lol :D
