A lovely lady maybe in her 40s rang the doorbell but stood the customary 2 metres from the door, she’s asked is there anything we needed and I said we were fine just now and thanked her for her kindness , she said she’d done the same to another house and was asked “ what car do you have and does it have a large boot?
She said she was on foot and then was told by the not so lady of the house
“Well stop wasting our time”
This makes my blood boil, just what the hell is wrong with these horrible people ????

rude people will always be rude...fact of life
To be fair, I have seen reports of scammers offering to shop for people and then disappearing with the money, never to return. I suspect people would be more likely to risk someone buying a few poundsworth of goods for them than a car load. Perhaps the lady thought it was a scam.
I hope she has a good memory for any future requests for help. We've had a number of calls asking if we need anything, I never considered myself 'elderly' before, 74 and 72, but many people have been very kind.
While the neighbours were undoubtedly rude...does anyone know who the lady at the door was? Unfortunately it's time to be a bit suspicious of any strangers who come round offering to help. Sorry for being cynical.

The lady offering help had ID on her but I understand where your coming from, the rudeness just peed me off
Perhaps she was just a cow.
Last three times I have been out for essentials I have phoned my neighbour and asked if she needed anything brought back. Response each time was "no, my daughter gets anything I need". Went out for half an hour today and when I got back she was at her door and said "I wish you had told me you were going out, I need a couple of things." Bit my tongue - can't win.

Some people are like that Spicey, sad as it is
Well to be fair she could have just put a sanitary note through the door with her number on it.
What's a sanitary note?
On second thoughts, don't tell me.
Just got email notification of my Waitrose delivery due this afternoon. 10 items out of 25 unavailable. I CANNOT BELIEVE IT. So peed off. Just bog standard items. What is the matter with people!! No Rocks orange squash, Ryevitas, Jam, Paracetamol, certain vegetables, toilet rolls, UHT milk, Simple soap, chicken breasts, certain biscuits. Great. Next delivery is 15 days away and who knows if that will be any better.
I suppose I'll have to bother my neighbours which I hate doing as they are all so busy albeit three have offered. Rant over.
When I went out for shopping this morning, no bread on shelves I asked when next delivery was due. Member of staff got me one from stockroom, apparently keeping stock for regular customers not people stockpiling.
You are lucky Tony. I am a regular Waitrose customer both online but also in store for odd bits and pieces but still I get nearly half my order missing.
Lady yes but probably being a regular customer helps. Do you use Waitrose online? Lots of supermarket shelves empty.
