Not sure what’s wrong with her, she didn’t eat her meal last night and isn’t interested in a treat, she keeps running then licking her lady bits, I’ve checked to see if there’s anything there but can’t see anything, she did jump into a pile of cow dung on Wednesday , could she have got an infection from doing that?
OH has taken her to the vets to have her checked over

Oh poor baby! I hope the meds work. Xx

Me too, she won’t keep the cone on at all
#nightmare#
But surely she can't get out of it Bobbie?
Question Author
She’s putting her paws through it and *shoving* it off, the vets gave us some bandage to loop through but obviously we don’t want to tie that too tight
Bobbie, you can get delightful little doggie t shirts instead of cones. Our vets sell them, or good pet suppliers. They cover the whole body like a cat suit and you just undo poppers and roll up when dogs go out to perform. Glad you know what it is. A couple of days and she will be fine. X

They wash well and you can keep it for further use if necessary. So much better than cones!
Remember Bobbs you have to sometimes be cruel to be kind, hope she bonces back soon.

Those cones play havok with your legs. Your get covered in bruises!
Question Author
Just sent for one of those vests for her APC, should arrive tomorrow , thanks again
Sorry to read she has been unwell but glad to know she is on the way to recovery.
sorry to hear about wee Lola - it's awful when they become sick. I also have a cone but find I use a dog's jumper that helps healing and also allows them relieve themselves when they want to

Just now I’ve got a toddlers underpants on her courtesy of my neighbour, she seems to have settled with them on, good job she a clean little dog and will let me know when she wants a wee
When I first started reading your thread Bobbs, I immediately thought about the cow pat. Hope she feels a lot better soon, but I'm sure she will as she's in very good hands. A lovely dog I once had, my Tara, actually managed to throw off one of those 'cones of shame'. Not quite sure how she did it, but she managed to get her paw behind it and thrust it off somehow! I didn't put it back on, but watched her like a hawk for the rest of the time till her wound healed and even stayed awake at night to make sure she didn't lick it. Such is the love we have for our pets.
I'd use the vest with the cone. Our hound managed to get to his stitches after being neutered as we though we'd be safe with just the vest. We were wrong, he got an infection. A possibly avoidable £110 smackers in the vet's pocket.
Best wishes to her, bobbi. Hope she is a lot better soon xx
My littlest one had one of those vests when she was spayed, which she was fine with. My cocker needed an operation to correct curled in eyelashes giving him ulcers when I first got him. They give him a cone, but he kept launching himself through bushes in the garden until it fell to bits ...
@12.16 where's Mothercare when you need them :0)
