I’ve just seen what I believe to be a stoat (light brown fur, dark tipped tail) running around on the terrace.
Should I be saying “Aw, that’s cute”, or viewing it as disease riddled vermin like a rat?

Definitely “Aw, that’s cute”

We rarely see them around, I wish I had one visiting my patio!!

I also love to see rats out and about, they are just a part of our wildlife and delightful as any other, they are just a problem when they try to share our accommodation.
Delightful!!

The dark tipped tail is a good identification key.

More likely to control the rat population.

watch it and enjoy it ?
A weasel is weasily identified because a stoat is stoatily different!!

Nice video, thank you RATTER15.
My visitor is a much lighter colour though - more beige-ish than brown. Definitely a stoat?

I have been present wrapping at the kitchen table, facing the full length glass doors. Since my earlier post, it has been running up the steps, peering through the doors, disappearing round the corner, then coming back again. It is very cute.
Can’t agree with you about rats, though!
Oh come on, look at this, delightful little fella!!

Nope. All I can see is the Bubonic Plague!
Had loads of them running round the garden last year. Realised they were living underneath a couple of dilapidated sheds, which I had pulled down. Problem solved.
The rain has set in now, so I think stoaty has gone to shelter.
Poor little ratty does get a hard time!
I have watched your stoat-rabbit clip ratter, and I can't help noticing that all the other rabbits and just standing around ! You would have thought that they might have come to their mates assistance !
The weasle is weasily wecognised while the stoat is stoatally different.
Oops, I didn't see Ratters post at 11.31 yesterday.
