Do you have collared doves in your garden?  If not, please feel free to take a few of mine - yesterday I counted twenty!  It's not that I dislike them, it's just that they eat so much!
They've obviously been to nest building night school, or are installing safety nets, so that their eggs no longer fall through their poor efforts!

Naughty doves.Ration their peanuts at once !!
We have several and boy do they kick up a stink first thing in the morning. In fact one is sitting on my chimney pot at the moment ..cooing away merrily and it echoes down the chimney.

Hi shaneystar, they do make a din don't they?  I was convinced a few weeks ago that there was one down the chimney but I checked outside first to see a pair cooing at each other on the chimney pot.  They seem to be 'at it' all year round - I wish they'd take a break, they're costing me a fortune!

OMG Robina 20!

We used to get quite a few collared doves in our garden, but not so many these days. It may be because we have a pair that visit every day & they strut around as if they own the place. They bath together & lay next to each other on the grass - it's lovely to watch them.

P.S. I love the cooing sound that comes down our chimney shaney - mind you it's probably only those two that do it!
My friend purchased a webley .22 when his property was over occupied with these doves. He tells me they have now all gone, ah shame

It's funny how they love to bask in the sun smudge - it's a good job most of the local moggies have been equipped with very loud bells!

davidicus - shame, yes, on your friend.
