totally random question but is it true that Polar Bears cover their noses when they get close to their prey when hunting- ive heard they do this beacuse they have black noses and may be seen by what they are hunting-

This will settle a massive debate :)

Quite a few websites refer to the polar bear covering its black nose whilst hunting. However, they almost invariably present this information by commenting: "It is said that..." In other words, nobody seems to be absolutely sure whether they do or not.
Short Fact:
To cover themselves from hunters, polar bears have been known to cover their noses with their paws!

The great David Attenborough has also stated that Polar Bears do indeed cover their noses with there paws when hunting for camoflauge reasons.

Amazing or what!

Also .... Ricky Gervais done a cracking stand-up routine about this in Animals. FFFFFFFFFFunny.
