Most dogs have got plenty of human friends who love them nearly as much as their owners do.

Perhaps you've got a friend or relative who thinks the world of your pooch and who therefore wouldn't mind you bathing your dog in their garden (or even in their bath!).

Take her to a doggy hairdresser place - if she smells bad. Or a basin of water and just wipe her down in the kitchen. :-)

If you are up for it take her to a dog parlour. If you have a Pets at Home store near you, you could maybe take her there, but I don't know what they are like. I know a couple of really good ones but they are either in Edinburgh or out in the wilds of East Lothian and the charges are very reasonable. If you are nowhere near here I'm sure other AB dog lovers might be able to recommend someone - or you could try your vet see if they can suggest someone.

Try a packet of baby wipes - works very well on Big Sis's lurcher pup :)

I know this sounds awful, but my parents dog was exactly the same. They just used to pick her up and put her in the bath... even though she clearly didn't like it. That sounds cruel, but she was a bit stinky so really did need it.
Failing that, is there such a thing as dry shampoo for dogs?

The 'wipe down' is the option I'm considering. She's a whippet/greyhound cross...so has very little hair....her pink skin shows through...a bit like a puppies tummy .;-0

Once you find out the answer to the problem pasta maybe you could find out how to bathe cats. Now that would be fun. :-)

I also like the baby wipe option....hmm...good idea. She's too awkward to pick up...all legs. Like a doggy giraffe!

Wolfie-I had to bathe Caspar-he had cat acne,and needed washes with Hibi-scrub....I had to wrap him in a towel. He felt too rotten to fight...now it would not work.

Wolfe I have bathed a cat! Not a lot of fun (still have the scars) He got creosote on his fur and it needed to be washed off. The trick is to put the cat inside an old pillowcase - leaving the head out of course and shampoo the cat through the pillowcase. I found that bit out after the bath!

Wasn't easy pasta freak but I did it! Leave it on the floor and the cat will eventualy get into to the pillowcase, they are nosey beggars!
