Can you honestly say that you are proud of this country? has every Government that has been in, in the last 20 years met your approval? have they given you more than you expected?

I am neither proud or ashamed of this country - it is the place i live, but i don;t harbour any particular view of it as an entity compared with others.

Governments rarely meet my approval, although I accept that broadly speaking they are trying to do their best - that best is usually rooted in self-interest rather than a genuine desire to make life better for others.

Politicians - by definition - have little understanding of the lives of the people they represent, and I accept that, as i accept that democracy, flawed though it is, is far better than the alternatives.

They have given me about what i expected - which is more of the same, in all aspects.
Cough, splutter, choke, giggle.
Yes,I am proud of this country.
With regards to your second question, the whole thing hinges around what your
political preference is.
You cannot please, all of the people, all of the time.

Yes,I am very proud of this country. I travel with my job to many parts of the world, but this is home.
I am proud of this country, for me it is the strength of character of the true Brits who make life worth living.
Have no time for politicians who are all self indulgent, and really don't give a toss about the rest of us.
Believe that I have received more than I expected in ways such as health care, housing and general fairness and understanding.
So yes I am proud to be British.
