thanks.
Lol! That's brought back memories of my GSD from many years ago, who loved every item of food except for cucumber-she barked at it and flung it round the room, you'd find a piece stuck halfway up the wall hours later. Crazy dog.
As long as you peel it and slice it first!
My mum always told me dogs can't digest vegetables properly but its okay for them to eat them so long as its not too much.
My oldest dog loves cucumber! He's even gone so far as to nick a half cucumber off a working surface - quite a long time ago now, so no ill effects - but aren't cucumbers about 90% water in any case?
Gosh, I've had quite a lot of dogs, but I've never heard of one who ate cucumber! I'll have to try it!
Our vet recommended that we gave our dogs 'homemade' meals of meat (chicken or pieces of casserole beef), rice or noodles, and green beans or courgettes. All cooked in a massive pan! He said the vegetables were good for their digestive system. I would sometimes add an egg (just break it over the other ingredients, towards the end of the cooking time, and stir), or grated cheese, and of course a spoonful of olive oil, to help my dogs get a shiny coat!
