Apart from the silly billies on here, do you find when you have asked for some advise, help, someone to listen, you get an honest thought out reply?

Certainly on practical questions. You yourself have helped me more than once in motoring. I've never really posted for emotional advice though.
Absolutely - apart from the usual who think they are being funny when in fact they are just being pathetic - I've had nothing but helpful and extremely supportive advice from AB - i think it's an extremely helpful and very broad spectrum of expertise site - I've had answers to a range of problems which have, incidently, saved me a lot of money. Yes, it's a very good site- lots of really nice people answer here
Yes.
Yes , especially good advice / info off Buenchico
had some replies that took the p1$$ though ....
Yes, im always amazed that when you really really need a shoulder to cry on, folks here will rally round. Like you said TWR, apart from a few "silly billies" this IS an awesome site, with some fantastic members.
yes, especially when it is a serious matter - it is one of the strengths of AB

and, yes, we can have our silly moments and threads......
Do I count as a silly-billy then, TWR? I hope not, as I try to give some helpful advice.
If I ask in an appropriate section. Snag to that is sometimes no replies.I'm not knocking CB cos I am one of those silliy billies when here, but I think if you ask something serious here you are leaving yourself open to that.
yes, there are some extremely helpful and pleasant abers, the " silly billies " are in the minority thankfully,

You know what I mean Jonny?
well we can all have our moments, both ways........

(and that isn't a bi reference given some of the threads over recent days!!!!
I've had helpful replies and some humourous ones which 99% weren't offensive.

I hope I've also offered a shoulder to lean on and offered some reasonably sensible advice.
I try to be helpful where I can... and jon in the general idiocy when that is not required.... I often type replies that I never submit though and try to remember it is a real person behind the avatar and user name

I dunno Trim, some of us have really appreciated replies when we've posted some difficult posts, i know i've spilled my guts a couple of times on here and folk have been fantastic rallying round and generally being a shoulder, all be it cyberly, to cry on.

Can't get that from Google :-)
I've nearly always had good answers on here and make a point of thanking people who have gone to the trouble of sharing there knowledge and taking the time to type an answer
I like to answer crossword questions. It saves me the cost of buying papers to do them.
Generally - yes. My crossword skills have improved enormously since I have tried to start answering, as well as asking.
Trim, when I started posting here I was completely computer illiterate, but I have learned quite a lot from asking and getting good replies, and although I would not say I am now literate, at least you could cross the completely off. So don't knock it and stop the 'better than thou' postings.
