Hi there. My two year old Weimaraner GSP cross boy has being diagnosed will allergy problems. The main symptom is inflamed ears which then become dirty and sticky. We are working with the vet who is excellent but the steroid tablets which helped at first have stopped being effective at a dose which is acceptable in terms of side effects for the dog. The next stage is to try a topical steroid spray which we will start on monday. We have cleaned up his diet which has helped a lot but not solved the problem. We have also tried
Canaural drops (the thick yellow ones)
Thornit powder
We currently use ear cleaning solution made from boracic and lactic acid to clean his ears (at vets suggestion) plus the steroid tabs and evening primrose oil capsules, again at vet's suggestion.
has anyone else had experience of this and can you make any suggestions please?
He has bare, not hairy ear canals and is as good as gold about the twice daily cleaning and treatment.
thanks

A very chilly and wet morning from Ibiza.

Back in yer box, shaney!!!

Yes I am a mean biddy but not to any of you! Not really talking to Mr N but we don't really talk much at all, he get very "hurt" tut, and will sulk for days and I just cannot be bothered to pander to him. So I will go out and buy myself something, that'll bring him to his senses!!!

Have to take computer tower in to be mended today, it needs a new dvd RW, and the USB 's don't work.

Hope you are all alright, no cowds, headaches, heaps and in some cases fleas!!!!! <<<<< ducks >>>>
The little island off of Ibiza, called Formentera has had it's first snowfall in a century, imagine.

Neti you aren't really mean.......it's raining here which has stopped work on the patio. It's nice to have a day off but sis arrives tomorrow so hopefully they will be finished tomorrow. Actually I know they wouldn't come today as I remembered from last Tim that you can't do the actual laying in the rain because it wrecks the screed to have it rained on.
We will probably go into town today and shop and I will buy the dogs a burger.
Morning all....<pops a worm tablet in shaney's tea>....snow's thawing here.

Ooh, snow on Ibiza neti...well it's still not an excuse and you won't be laughing when woofy sees you've put a ski suit on one of her boys

doggy jammies....actually they are useful for dogs who feel the cold like greyhounds.
Good Morning all. This is meant to be a compliment. If you were a little dog Shaney, you'd be a lovely friendly one.

It's not snowed again yet here in fact my car has almost cleared now. I'm not sure if school is open today so I will have to ring up in a while to find out.

Still not got the hang of my new phone I really think it'e the Orange shop for some help. I will get it eventually as I was like this with my last one.

I hope your sister arrives ok in the weather Woofy and you have a good time together. Also that your Patio is finished.

I'm hoping the roads will be clear tomorrow so I can get out to Tai Chi. I go down the back lanes to get there but it may be a main road journey if they're no better.

I'm sure you'll be friends again with Mr N Neti. Remember all the nice things he does!
One of my friends was given a lap-top by her husband and she didn't want it and he had to take it back so she is in the dog-house and having to do a bit of creeping to cheer him up :o) I can't believe her really I'd be pleased about a new lap-top.
I expect shell ring me tonight and give me the whole story.

Have a good day all see yer later 'gater(s)
Jude, have you downloaded Samsung Galaxy ACE manual on the internet, make a shortcut (or favourites) and then you can refer to it when necessary. I can't find how to download my music from laptop to samsung.

Oh love the dog's pj's should woofy have matching ones??

Pats shaney in passing (sorry shaney, you'll never live this down!) pretty ickle thing!
Hi folks

Not going out in this lot .
Hope your sister arrives safely Woofy.Take care all ..see you a bit later when I've eaten my Bonios on tst:)
You mean you haven't been out in your fur coat(haha) and tiara shaney to wave at the queen?...she's been in Norfolk

Even though there are things I probably need more I'd be thrilled skinny with a new laptop too Jude...there's just no pleasing some folk.

I'm waiting for my groomer to get back to me, I'm in need of a good clip and colour. Hope she can fit me in this week while I'm not planning on going anywhere

Do you know Robinia I've not even worn the fur coat yet !
It's still in the wardrobe in it's cover with the ticket on it .
Ah yes ..her Maj ..60 years today .I think she's in Kings Lynn today for something .
I won't be going to see her though, she might want her tiara back :)
..and do you know shaney, I still haven't worn my new coat with the fur collar yet either?! What are we like? I don't want to turn into my mother, she bought things and didn't wear them. The collar will come off though so it extends it's wearability a bit :o). Actually I saw one of those diamond quilted jackets yesterday that I like (dotty perkins)...it's got a hood which that style rarely have...hmmm...I'll have another look now it's daylight ...
Haha . My Mum used to do that and have "best " things .
I remember plaguing my mother for a pair of two tone shoes in brown with an ankle strap . I got them, but with a stern reminder that they were for best . I think I wore them twice ,on a Sunday probably, and the next time I went to wear them my feet had grown and they were too small !
lol...'best' clothes were also 'bury me clothes'...they were always bought a size too big. By the time my frocks fitted me they'd got about 3 lines where they'd been turned up & let down agin, haha. Then, if she was really lucky(?), my sister got to wear them....haha, I'm in hysterics here, we often laugh about it.
We three sisters always had identical dresses, coats and hats for Sundays, summer and winter, so of course, me being the youngest had to wear all these when they outgrew them, I was in the same blinking dress for years. We did have a different one each for special days and then of course I had to have their old special dresses whilst they got new ones. My older sister had a red, white and blue dress which looked just like a Harpic bottle, I hated it!
I had a pair of red suede shoes for best when I was 14, and mum kept them in the cupboard so I didn't get them, but I took them to school everyday and wore them out, when she finally got them out for me to wear to a do, they were ruined! OMG, got a wallop for that!!
