Stop using caps JILL ?  whats that/them ? NEVER wore a hat in my life !! make you go bald !!  PUT YOUR SPECS on !!!! now, WHAT about my poor goldfish ?
it took about 3 years before my goldfish had babies, and yes they do eat them, you will know when the female is pregnant when they look fat on the underside, you will find the babies  hard to see at first because they will be black, also the condition of the water has to be just right for them to breed, use a good filter system.
