My 10 month old cavalier king charles has gone missing, he was last seen be my at 6pm in the house and when i returned home at 7.40 he was no where to be seen, no either he's got out of the garden somehow or escaped through the door when my sons friend left around 6.45. On returning home i went out and scanned the area with a torch calling his name, came back home and phoned local police and animal warden... i'll do posters now to put up tomorrow...anything else i can do my daughter is heart broken

After a very restless night i woke to find that he did not return home. I've contacted local vets including my own and the local and not so local RSPCA's.

In a way i hope he's snuggled up to someone on their sofa but in another way i hope he's not been stolen. I hope if omeone has him they return him when they see the posters.

I am also going to put an add in the local paper. I wish i had better news for my daughter coming home from school :(
any news yet????
don't give up hope - you are human and kids are kids - these things happen.
Keep your chin up XXXXX
we had our dog stolen about 3 years ago it was an awful time, she was nearly 10 and we had her from 6wks. I think of her everyday still i guess she would be gone now anyway, so i know how you feel its like losing a child. Hope you have some good news soon. Please keep us posted
Question Author
nothing to report at the moment i'm afraid :(
he is not on doglost yet
Have you been in touch with Doglost yet Faire? As for the RSPSA they are useless, A friend of mine a couple of years ago had an elderly dog who got out when the postman left the gate open, the dog unbe known to the owner was handed in to the RSPSA when found wandering in the road, this person didn't know my friend, anyway my friend kept ring them to see if her dog had been handed in and they kept saying no, To cut a long story short the dog had been put to sleep because it was old and my friend found this out from a friend of a friend who knew the person that handed the dog in, that's the RSPCA for you, and all this time ringing them up they were trying to get her to adopt another dog!!
Any news yet Fairie, I do hate it when people try to help and then there's no feedback!
Yes ive just come on to see if there's any news too - i do keep wondering about the poor littlte thing.

sorry for the delay i getting back to you all, I have charlie back home safe and sound, got him back last night, he'd been handed into RSPCA by animal warden who apparently found him on a playing field miles away from home! he's a little shaken and was overjoyed to see my daughter, i've bought hima n ame tag and booked into vets for microchip, hope he's not had too bad of a time on the streets but also hope he's learned not to run off!

thanks everyone for your support xx
Brilliant news!!!! So pleased for you.
Question Author
oh and just to add for everyone's future information it cost 75 to get him back because he'd been picked up by a warden,
That's fair enough - it is how these services keep going!

Now i've just found out that 2 young lads knocked next door asking was he their dog the other night but it was the teenage son who answered the door and said 'no' he didnt know it was ours as he'd never seen him before and didnt know we had dogs!! (we have only been here 3-4 weeks) Yeah it was a fair price to pay to get him back, now i need to explore how he got out and put it right!
glad you got him back.
Get a ID tag for him asap. It is law that dogs must have an identifying tag when out in public places, even if they have been chipped.
Question Author
Yes, i went straight the petshop and got him an ID tag with name addy and number on. He's also getting microchipped.
I have to admit that I was thinking of you and your puppy last night. I am glad that it is a happy ending. :-)

My first dog wandered off when he was about 9 months old and was out all night. It was a horrible experience for both of us.
thank goodness for that a happy ending for a change
Thats made my day Fairie.Great news, I feared the worse but so pleased he's home for you all.If he's a bolter you will have to be more vigilant with him.Great, Great news.g
