The Time Has Come......for A New Puppy!

It's now 9 months since I lost my dog. Now the time has come to start afresh. Yesterday I saw our new puppy for the first time.
I can hardly wait to be a dog owner again, since being without has made me very lazy, I must admit. I used to be out in all weathers, and now it's too easy to stay at home when it chucks it down.

He's a Welsh Springer Spaniel, 5 weeks old and we're calling him Harry (a Prince called Wales with red hair and a sense of fun:-). We get him mid April, so plenty of time to make the place puppy-safe!

For that reason we've put off the new carpet and suite - let chaos reign!
Marvellous!

Aw how lovely, there's nothing like a new puppy to brighten up a home.
Brilliant, enjoy him!!
I envy you, you lucky person.
A Springer Spaniel?

You can not only put off the new carpet and suite, you can also put off any dieting that you might have planned! Springers require lots and lots (and lots and lots and lots) of exercise, which should help to keep you fit and slim too ;-)

When you get your new friend, please put a pic online (Tinypic is the easiest place) and post a link here so that we can all admire him.
How lovely enjoy Harry xx

Will do - promise!
There were six in the litter and the breeder posted photos. It took only seconds - gut instinct. at the moment he relishes under the name of Ymlyniad (Loyalty, I think) but you can hardly call that out in the park - even if I could pronounce it!
Your post has made me feel broody tara.

Best wishes - but should you change your mind I could send you one of my cats.
>>>Loyalty, I think

According to the BBC's online Welsh dictionary, he should certainly stick to you ;-)

I am really pleased to hear your good news. Here's to many years together.
Just the right time of year to get a puppy. At least it will be light when you have to get up early in the morning to let him out for a wee wee.
When we got Tilly, in April, six years ago, I lost half a stone in a month because I could never sit still.
Ha ha...when I got Sally 2 years ago-I also lost half a stone the first month...walks every 30 minutes will do that. He looks lovely-do post 'progress' piccys.
*2 years ago*.....oops-almost 3 years now. Time flies!
He's lovely colouring!
tara, he's the cutest, most handomest puppy in the world.
I wish you both a long and happy life together. x
He's beautiful tara. You have to love chaos :o)
Grüß Gott tara
I'm so envious .Circumstances don't permit us having another dog now :(
He's a lovely pup and he'll certainly have a loving home with you.
Hope you and yours are all well .

Well, after a Golden Retriever it had to be something completely different. Over the years we made sure that a new dog was never anything like his predecessor. They were all individuals in looks, size, and breed.

I've had an English Springer, liver and white as a teenager.
A golden Cocker, a blonde Schnauzer mix, a black and silver Spitz mix (Tara)and then Sandy. Now it's a new chapter in my doggy book :)
Puppies and evil kittens all look so cute and innocent when they are young. Their enthusiasm for life is almost contagious. I am so envious.
Lovely! Springers are crazy but loving, and I'm sure you'll have a wonderful life with Harry. I'm quite jealous really
