Has anybody been watching this ? It is seemingly an attempt to make a MasterChef lookalike, but it can never match that peerless show. Jennie Bond is in my view totally wrong in the part (much better Ainsley Harriott or Cat Deeley). The major enjoyment of the programme for me comes from the banter between the competing chefs, and the obvious warmth and respect they have for one another.

Agree Ms Bond can't carry it at all and she is doing this I presume 'cos of the Royal aspect. I was told by one of the 'contestants' at a presentation recently they thought of it as 'The X Factor' for chefs and they really were nervous about it as the final outcome is seen as a very important commission.

Rumour has it that it is just a set-up and that HRH wants Gary Rhodes to win. I can't wait to see the week he is on anyway, he is such a fascinating cook.

It would be better to have it in a weekly one hour format, most of the programme is padded out with footage of the chefs in sou' westers on boats "catching" the fish course. Ms Bond wears the same clothes all week so either it's filmed in a day or she's not so fragrant as she makes herself out to be!

I only saw this because I was watching the Saturday Kitchen cooking show on Saturday morning on BBC1, they show a full weeks version of it Alibobs and yes it was easier to watch than the every night one.

What scares me most is that the ultimate decision is made by public vote, a public that won't even have tasted the food...
I'm so disapointed, I love the bits when something actualy happens but we timed Wednesday's show and there was only 6 minutes of stuff we hadn't seen already. This show is overstuffed, over hung and inedible. It has to be the laziest programme the BBC have ever transmitted. As for Jenny Bond, dont get me started and I'd be amazed if the judges could taste anything, it's appears like they've worn the same clothes for 2 weeks. 1/10 for effort, could do a lot better. If Her Majesty is watching I'm sure she's hunting for the takeaway menu on the coffee table as we speak
