guinea pig bald patch

Hi I have three guinea pigs all female approx two years old one of them has a bald patch about the size of a 20p coin just behind her ear it has brown flecks on the skin othewise no redness anyone any ideas?

Check with your vet of course but I was thinking it possibly could be ring worm. We had one once that lose some hair because she had been running a fever for two days.

All guineapigs have bald patches behind their ears ranging from quite large to fairly small. You can see their skin, which will be the flecks you see. If it's really big, it could be mange or ringworm or some other infestation, so keep an eye on it.

Hi little donkey I have checked the others and you are right the one i was worried has curly hair so it looked worse on her but i am relieved thanks
