Just read that food banks have been told to close on the 19th because it's "disrespectful"

What's "disrespectful" is that food banks have to exist in 2022!

I would say the existence of food banks in 2022 is unfortunate but I am not sure how it is disrespectful.

What was utterly disrespectful was someone trying to pull the flag off the Queen's Coffin whilst she lies in state. Apparently the numpty was shouting, "Allen's Snackbar."
As I understand it, they haven’t been ‘told to close’, it’s been their choice so that staff can watch the funeral. Some have now changed their minds and are staying open.
Was it Allan's snack bar or Allahu Akbar?

I do hope that's the case Vagus, would hate to think of families going hungry.
The food banks MUST stay open, the late Queen and the RF would not like them to close.
I saw in the news that they have been putting a few extra items in each pack to cover for the bank holiday. I don't know if its in all food banks though.
My local foodbank might have to close for good...
We are literally running out of food.

High on demand and low on donations.

That's so sad Nailit. The need for foodbanks seems to be growing.

A local link.
Personally I would have gone work...

I sick of hearing people say or accuse others of being disrespectful, its almost like they think they are better bred. Not everyone is in bits.
Not got a link then, maggie?
Its a joke is it not that the now KC produced food on his farms that many many people cant afford, plus the Royal crest on some foods are also too expensive for joe public.
Not allowed to eat on monday then.
Get a pie and some crisps down the pub, Gulliver.

Respectful pies mind.
Not unless it's Duchy organic from Waitrose. Other than that, you will have to wait for the food bank to open on Tuesday.
Blame the individual food banks. According to nailit’s link they have a choice.
Nailit Do you think some of them have closed because people can't now afford to donate?
