My cat

has just had a fight with a fox in my back garden over a duck carcass.The
fox ran off when mr.c opened the back door. The funny thing is the cat keeps
pacing up and down wanting to go out again. You thing he'd be terrified!

I would be too frightened to let the cat out again. Foxes are very quick and more often than not kill their prey whatever gets in their way.

My cat chases the local fox. My previous cat chased off loads of foxes. I've never worried about any of my cats fighting with foxes, they seem to come to a mutual agreement to leave each other alone :c)

Asda's killed the duck. We had a sandwich with the leftovers when we got
home tonight. The fox hasn't been back for the duck,lol! I may keep the cat
in tonight.

The fox has been back and collected the duck carcass. I wont be putting
food out at night anymore. My cat and the fox usually ignore each other. I
should imagine the fox has cubs.

I wouldn't leave an animal carcass outside - rather. boil it and take the flesh off for your cat. Much nicer!

^^ in which case the fox will be more likely to kill for food for the cubs - I think you're right not to leave food out.
