Well now isn't that a question and a half... and I've searched and searched to find an answer myself because the music is sooo funky... plus one associates it with a v. good programme which helps...lol... Anyway just as I was about to give up hope after too many dead ends... Wrigley's came up trumps and I can now announce that this piece of music is... *drum roll*

"Mambo Jambo" by Richard Myhill

...which is on a compilation of library music for advertising and distributed by KPM music. I'm told it's impossible to get hold of a copy of this music because it's strictly for broadcasting / telly companies etc... absolutely, totally and utterly impossible!!! BUT weirdly enough I seem to have been able to achieve the impossible. Woo! =o)

I emailed wrigley's PR dept and they sent me this reply:

The name of the music in the Orbit Professional sellotape advertisement is
"Captivation", published by Ded Good Music.

I did a search for Mambo Jambo after reading your post and found that it by Perez Prado (the name of an album I think) and so it's unlikely to be a piece of library music. This guy also performed the piece used in the Guiness commercial where all the revellers are drawn to a rave like moths to a flame.

Yeah wrigleys sent me that too - but that was the first version of that advert... they re-did it with the mambo jambo music apparently... and it took me forever to find it online and then when i'd found it i had to do some jiggery pokery to grab it from the site because they only had a linked version up there. If people are after it... then send me a mail and i'll see if i can get it to you... =o)
