I really demeaned myself to 'wangle' that Christmas Badge the other day and I haven't even got it. ;-( In fact, despite being considered a leading ABer, by me, I've only got a handful of those crappy badges they hand out to anyone.

I'm still laughing at "a leading ABer".......

I've reported the problem of badges not being updated several times (both in the Ed's blog and by emailing the Ed) and there have been several promises of getting it all sorted out. (I want my 1000 Club badge and the Friday 13th one. Scorpiojo needs her 100 Club, 250 Club, 500 Club and 1000 Club badges, probably among many others, all of which she should have been given during her first 14 months membership of AB). However nothing ever seems to get done :(

I doubt that we'd have been allowed the Cycling Proficiency badge, BlackadderV. Indeed, I suspect that it would have been seen as something that only 'little children' had and definitely not appropriate for 'young gentlemen'.
The 'young gentlemen' thing was constantly impressed upon us. For example, any pupil who played soccer for an organised team in their own time (e.g. after school or at weekends) would be automatically expelled. Soccer, we we were repeatedly told, was a game only played by 'common boys'. The only winter sport appropriate for 'young gentlemen' was rugger!
