Not concentrating properly when cooking tea, managed to pour boiling water all over my hand. Have had it in a bowl of cold water for 2 1/2 hours, parts of it still really hurt when I take it out & feel slightly sick. Luckily I took my watch and rings off straight away :(

Oh dear, what a shame. I am sorry that has happened to you, sher. Is it still red, swollen and painful?
Aaaw. Running water might keep it colder? Sounds painful, though...:-(

Yup, up my wrist too. Patch on the back of my hand really hurts and is blistering. Left hand though, so glass half-full!
Oooo, Sherr.....I can imagine you are not concentrating just now.....should you get it looked at if possible?....Gx
sherr, cover it with clingfilm and slap a bag of frozen peas on it
Oh Sherr, well your mind is wandering just now - Pixie is right, running water would have been the best route, any blistering?
Crossed posts, keep a close watch on it.

Got my hand submerged to half way up my arm, bowl on floor, TV on. Got ice pack in tea towel for when I need to move anywhere.
You silly thing, you really are distracted at the moment.

Hopefully you have taken the worst of the heat out after 2 1/2hrs, you may still need a burns dressing though. A trip to the pharmacy tomorrow for advice and a once over.

I'm sure himself will be quite fine, try not to sweat it too much.

Shown it to my friend (ex-nurse - used her kitchen sink for water), she said to keep it in water for now.
where is sqad when you want him ?
clingfilm's as sterile as you'll get and you don't get fluffy bits going grungy in the blisters - direct ice is good

Cling film was a bad plan, just made my hand feel like it was on fire!!!! Have it back in the water. Will try a tea towel and sweet corn for the top and green beans for the bottom (when I stop feeling really sick from the cling film plan).
It does sound as though you need to get off to A&E, Sher.
Why Sqad?

Leave it in water as long as poss. If the blisters are bigger than 50p go to the minor injuries clinic tomorrow to get it cleaned and dressed. Try your hardest not to burst any.
sherr, if I was you I'd get my self to the A&E asap.
Question Author
My friend is an ex A & E nurse and she says there's not much point plus there's no one to have the kids. Apart from the fact my whole hand is bright red it only really hurts in certain places.
Keep going with the water, sherr. I'd be reluctant to sit in a&e half the night.
They might be able to give you some pain relief though, sherr.

I have cider :)
