Does anyone know his name- I know his face so well from TV shows in the 80's but can't find the info anywhere! My hopes are on you, Answerbank experts - do not fail me!! Cheers

he was never in the bill.

in the 90's he was jayne tennysons' boss in 'prime suspect
in the 70's he was the boss of the chinese detective (played by david yip)

fair enough, ojread.
i do admit i've only seen about two years' worth of the bill -- obviously he's been in seasons i have not seen.

however -- prime suspect and the chinese detective are absolute certs.
