Fantastic site with great helpful people, all I hope for is when you answer a question the person who receives the answer I hope will thank the answerer sometimes that is not the case?????
Hi Ed .....Do you really mean that having a 'roll' down south is the same as having a 'cob' up north.

We use different terminology in South Wales for such activities. :-) ☺☺☺

Ron
No problem spending a couple of minutes with your survey. It's a lot better than some survey you get asked to take part in (eg one's that ask too many personal details about personal finances etc). I find the site full of friendly users especially the quiz and crossword sections.
Looks like we are all retired with nothing better to do than visit answer bank
i am not sure what the poll wants to acheive

Bill...you don't have to join in you know.
thank you
awww im 1 of 3 that use answerbank out and about. but if i wasnt travelling my answer would have been i use answerbank at home!!!
So are you finding the results of this survey enlightening yet, Ed?
I fall into all the categories of the majority, except I am slightly younger than most. I have a PhD, semi-retired, self-employed and work from home. You didn't ask my sex. I have small baps, so does this confirm me as a southerner? You didn't ask me if I had two grown-up children who think I spend too much time on AB.
I use AB regularly for crosswords, and occasionally for science/nature/pet queries (you didn't poll me on which categories) and get drawn into various strings of debate.
I share Aquagility's frustration with crossword submissions (probably the most used part of the AB site?) falling into two separate lists.
I really enjoy participating in the AB community, and find it an invaluable tool when stuck for an answer!
Hi crockshard....I also would like to know if the Ed is enlightened by this survey.

Anyway, being a Welshman, it is not easy for my understanding of what other English speaking people are really saying: although I do wish to keep abreast of things.

For instance you have said that you have 'small baps'. Are you telling me that you have young children along with those who are now grown-up. Or am I missing the points to which you are drawing attention.:-) ☺☺☺

Ron
Hi, Ron.
So are 'baps' small children in Welsh? That may be very useful for the Mephisto crossword - Chambers dictionary is good for Scottish words, but not so hot on the Welsh vernacular.
Week ye kin aye ask a Scot fur ony wurds ye dinnae ken - we're an affy helpful race o' folk!
In some parts of Wales 'Baps' are regarded as wee folk, if ye ken what I mean (sorry maggiebee, for my poor Scottish accent.)

Ron.
It would appear that we now have four 'upper class' members in AB. The thought occurs to me that they could be living in what is tantamount to being a Council House.

Probably the Windsor chavs.
thanks for survey and for being there!
The answer that surprises me is the age group - loads more oldies on here than I realised!!! Of course we've always got sqad, but I would have hazarded a guess (is there such a word) that the average age on here was 30-50. Or am I thinking of chatterbank rather than answerbank as a whole?

Yes. Perhaps that's it.
