I know Mods can put "answer removed" on certain posts - can they also remove a whole post by the original poster without comment?  One such post was in latest posts this morning and now seems to have completely disappeared - at least I can't find it!

Yes, we can.

Seems a bit unfair!

Do you mean a whole thread?

How else would they deal with spam posts etc. ?

I think Raving-Mod means we're not obliged to personally comment when we remove a post - but when we remove a post it will show as 'answer removed'.  If you think a post has disappeared completely the chances are you forgot to click 'answer now' - and so it wasn't posted in the first place.

When we remove a whole thread there is no trace of it.

@11:04...what makes you say that?

10.49 Moorea7.   As you can see this site is heavily controlled by part time mods Sat ,Sun .Who are fond of Removing Answers ,Threads or just the Answer box .Also very fond of suspending members. Agree with you, It is Unfair.
