Old Threads Resurrected By Removed Posts

At least two entries earlier today into the Latest Posts list, on investigation, showed the penultimate entry over a month old followed by a "post removed" from today. (I presume they were Spam).

Would it be possible at the same time the posts are removed to also remove the entry from the Latest Posts list. In today's case, two legit posts spent less time on the Latest List than was their due. This seem unfair.

I know it's only a small point, but it annoyed me.

I saw Lcg ‘s back to work after Xmas one then a troll removed instantly ( well done that Mod)
Canary, when a troll is banned the listing in latest posts disappears along with their post.
I don't actually understand the question haha but I thought old threads didn't appear in latest posts even when they are added to anyway. Isn't that how some members are able to chat away in private? I came across such discussions myself purely by accident.
Me neither, Pru.
Why would a Mod or the Ed go back to an old thread to remove a post?
The threads which had had spam added to them stayed in the Latest Posts after I'd reported the spammers - but not for long, the Mods obviously acted quickly on the reports!

Thanks for deleting original naomi.

I assume your "trolls" includes spammers. If so, then my concern is certainly alleviated.

P.S. Having made a fool of myself on several occasions recently due to misunderstandings of how the site runs (yes, even after 14 years), perhaps we could have an Answerbank for Dummies somewhere :-)

Pru/Zacs

Neither of the posts were beyond the expiry date - they were originally from the first week in January.
Sorry, canary. That does include spammers.

Great !
Neveracrossword. Mods don’t see reports so unless a mod has spotted an offending post and zapped it, the Eds will have removed those you’re talking about.

They don't like it up em .. do they..
You’re probably right, gulliver. I’d hazard a guess that banned posters don’t like it up em.
Canary, in the example you gave the post was under a month old so naturally any post (legit or spam) would bring it up in the latest postings. I reported the spammer on 2 threads immediately.
^^Prudie, I hope that clarifies things for you :)
Ah, I understand now.
Power to the Ministry Of Defence ..then.
Thanks, Naomi, I'd always just assumed it was the Mods who got the reports- and I was always pleased to see the spam get banished so quickly.
