Morning, Chris and Oz......I was going to bed a couple of hours ago but an idea for some knitting popped into my head and you know how it is....you just have to start.....and the fire's cosy.....and 4extra catch-up.....☺
Many (many, many) years ago, I used to sleep just 10 hours per week. (3 hours on a Tuesday night, 3 hours on Thursday night and 4 hours on Sunday night). These days I seem to need that much sleep (or more) every day but I can't get my body clock to accept that night-time is when it ought to be!
You're obviously still a youngster (at least as far as sleep is concerned), Boaty ;-)
gness it's always good to see you my lovely. I'm getting homesick, I think I'll have to see if I can get over this year. It's a long time since I had lunch in Reggies in Waterford.
The only time I've slept more than a couple of hours was in army days. When we finished a tour in Northern Ireland during the troubles, I got home to my married quarters in Germany and slept the clock round.
I've just googled 'Reggies Waterford' and, unless you had lunch in Reggie's Repair & Salvage in Waterford, Maine, USA, it seems that Reggie's is no more :(
Chris it's proper name is Reginald's It built onto the side of Reginald's Tower, part of the ancient city defences. It's right on the waterfront, the marina is opposite. It's my favourite restaurant anywhere in the world. I can assure you it's still there mate! :o}
^^^My longest sleep was in my college days. I'd not had a wink of proper sleep for several weeks, so I went to the college doctor and he gave me some diazepam. He said to take two tablets each night but one tablet might do the trick for the first night. So that night I took just one tablet and went to bed. I woke up 46 HOURS LATER!
There were two annoying things:
1. I'd taken the tablet on a Friday evening, so I'd missed a weekend of fun, rather than any lectures; and
2. None of my friends had even noticed my absence!
I'm going over later, Boaty.....but I'm feeling a bit homesick too.....lost some family and friends in the past few weeks and that makes you a bit maudlin... and conscious of not putting things off.....
I often miss a night's sleep.....I'm not good at doing nothing and I get into my head what I could do instead of sleeping....like knitting!
