I just answered a new question and the 'related question' was from 2005 and headed '' Very Urgent Help needed please ''

I think they are a bit confusing. I almost answered one it was dated 2005.

they are more 'random' than 'chosen' and usually more 'unrelated' than 'related', other than those 2 small issues they're doing ok.

It's a (fairly dumb) computer algorithm looking for word matches in thread titles.

Its useless ans annoying at present. I would suggest that a better option would be a "click here for related questions" link which would make for a tidier page.
