Why aren't old comedy silent films shown on TV anymore?

Like Harold Lloyd, Buster Keaton or the Keystone kops? Also Laurel and Hardy are never on anymore either. I remember when I was young these kind of films were on TV regularly.

What was the name of the 1970s TV show about a boy who got lost in a tower block?

Why are a good few adverts featuring puppets and computer generated images? Only a few products eg shampoo, mascara, skin creams continue to employ humans.

Is it because advertisers need not pay royalty fees to non humans or is it that they hate us?
