hi peeps, i got this song going round in my head and am sure it was in an advert years ago, the song goes something like " i put my blue jeans on, i put my old blue jeans on" any help on this would be greatly welcome :)

You are right about that. This was in the days before silly price 'cheap'.
I'm talking about high street shop prices. These jeans were on offer to muscle in on the market when they first came out and seemed like a bargain but were not.

I may be wrong, but I think the song was written for the ad, and the original lyrcs (as heard in the ad) were something along the lines of "I but my Brutus Jeans on". When the song was extended and released as a single, the non-commercial BBC wouldn't play it unless the lyrics were changed - so as not to advertise - so "blue jeans" it became.
