Camcorder with Auto Power-off Overide?

Can anybody tell me if most Digital Camcorders these days come with the option to overide the AUTO POWER-OFF function, ie. stop it from switching off if left untouched? ...I need the camcorder for...

Weird foreign sci-fi film - Title?

Anybody know the title of a strange european (french?) sci-fi film about a man who builds a lazer to zap people through their television sets - and holds all the TV stations to ransom...?!
